Neleman is Best Organic Wine Brand in the Netherlands according to Dutch wine writing platform 'De Grote Hamersma'

According to De Grote Hamersma, Neleman is the Best Organic Wine Brand in the Netherlands. This award fits within a broader trend in the wine market, in which organic producers are gaining ground and are increasingly recognized for quality, not just sustainability. Since 2014, Neleman has been producing exclusively the best organic and vegan wines at its own winery in Valencia (Spain). 

Additionally, all wines received the ‘Better for the Environment’ designation from De Grote Hamersma, an award for producers who demonstrably implement sustainability throughout the entire chain, from vineyard to bottle. Truly the best organic wine, therefore. 

Consistently Highly Valued

The recognition follows years of consistent assessments in De Grote Hamersma. Neleman's wines are regularly praised for their price-quality ratio and accessibility. For instance, the Neleman Tempranillo was included in the Top 5 wines under €10 in 2024. Other wines in the range also consistently receive high scores and positive reviews. 

International recognition is growing

Outside the Netherlands, too, Neleman is increasingly being judged by leading wine critics and competitions. In total, the wines have now been reviewed more than 300 times, including by Jancis Robinson MW, James Suckling, Decanter, Wine Enthusiast, and Mundus Vini. For instance, a Bobal from Neleman received 94 points from Decanter, the highest score ever for this grape from Spain and thus the best Bobal wine.

According to founder Derrick Neleman, the award reflects a broader movement in the sector: “The recognition shows that organic wine is no longer a niche, but is increasingly becoming the norm. Consumers expect quality *and* responsibility.” The company is supported by over 5,000 co-owners, who invest in the winery through certificates and support the sustainable mission.
