Press release: Harvest 2026 has started!
The Macabeo grapes had the honor of being the first; they look perfect and are being brought to the Neleman winery as quickly as possible for further processing. Sorted by hand and straight into the cold storage.
Other grapes will follow later, such as Muscat, and Neleman is particularly curious to see what the Parellada and Merseguera grapes, which they planted a few years ago, will yield.
Merseguera is an unknown indigenous grape from Valencia that Neleman wants to breathe new life into, just as they did previously with the unknown Verdil grape. Local hero and prize winning grape Bobal will be the last to be harvested, and alongside all the amazing red wines and rosé they hope to make from it, Neleman chief winemaker Jorge has come up with something new for this grape. And that will leave no one unmoved!
The harvest will last for at least a few more weeks.
Neleman Chief Winemaker Jorge Monfort Salvador:
“Our vineyards are in top condition!”
Every harvest reminds us once again that everything starts in a healthy vineyard. All the care and dedication throughout the year ensure that Neleman can produce unique wines year after year.
As usual, all remnants of the harvest are collected and eventually returned to the vineyards as natural compost. With the wine in tanks/barrels, the circle is then complete.
